Options They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and while the following pistols mimic the Glock, some offer more at an even lower price.

The Glock-like Smith & Wesson M&P 2.0 has found favor with many law enforcement and concealed carry agencies. Smith and Wesson

The S&W M&P, now in its 2.0 configuration, is a common alternative and one of Glock's first. Base prices start at around $569, and like the Glock, they're available in 9mm, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP with 3.6-, 4.0-, or 4.6-inch barrels, which are comparable to subcompact, Glocks compact, and serviceable in size. . Characteristically, they are nearly identical, and both the M&P and Glock have optic-ready setups. Even the Performance Center M&P is a bit cheaper than a stock Glock. Many law enforcement agencies have chosen the M&P over the Glock, and over time it has proven to be a reliable alternative to the Austrian legend. Check availability here.

Springfield-Armory's selection of XD pistols is extensive, with small, medium and large versions in 9mm, .40 S&W and .45 ACP. The Elite optic-ready version of the XD only raises the price to just a shade over $700, which is less than some base model Glocks. Walther's PPQ pistol, with its interchangeable backstrap, is slightly more ergonomic than a Glock, and the trigger feels very similar. The size and weight of each PPQ is similar to comparable Glock, XD or M&P models. Suggested retail prices are not much lower than Glock's, but the counter prices are. One of the most overlooked Glock-like pistols is the CZ-USA P-10. Like all CZ-USA firearms, the P-10s are very reliable and good shooting pistols. They come in various sizes, with or without threaded barrels, suppressor height sights, and scope-ready cutouts. With subcompact, compact and service size options, and with barrel lengths from 3 to 4.5 inches, there are quite a few models to choose from. When the US Army adopted the Sig Sauer P320, it became an extremely popular polymer handgun, providing direct competition to the Glock. The P320s come in a wide variety of configurations. The trigger is a bit better than the Glock and the slide lock is ambidextrous. Optic-ready, standard-sight, compact and full-size pistols are available. But what really sets the P320 apart is how the fire control unit can be changed between frames for easy slide length and cartridge conversion. P320s sell for about $100 less than comparable Glocks. If you're looking for an affordable Glock alternative, you might want to consider the Turkish-made Canik TP9. The SAR9 is available in one size and is sort of a direct challenge to the Glock 17, which is a bit lighter. There's no denying it, the Glock 19 is one of the most popular handguns among people who carry concealed every day. When it comes to comparing different guns, the Glock 19 is the gold standard for capacity, weight, functionality and ease of use. Over the past few decades, Glock has built a reputation for being extremely reliable and having simple, easy-to-use controls. The Glock series of pistols are some of the most durable and reliable pistols on the market. However, not everyone wants a Glock for one reason or another, they want a trigger fired pistol with similar capacity and overall capabilities. Let's take a look at the 4 best Glock alternatives on the market.

One of the closest alternatives to the Glock 19 would have to be the CZ P10c. The CZ P10c is a compact striker fired pistol with a 15 round capacity. They offer regular and optic-ready models just like the Glock MOS system and have several options in terms of red dot optics. One of my favorite styling features of the P10c is the ergonomic feel of the slide and frame.

The dimensions between the Glock 19 and the P10c are nearly identical, but the different palm bumps and chamfers on the slide make it look smaller than the Glock's larger ergonomics. Having similar dimensions to the Glock 19 also means a level of holster compatibility. This is not to say that all Glock 19 holsters can fit a CZ P10c, but most will. The trigger is a neat, clean 5 pound trigger with a very positive reset that makes it incredibly easy to shoot. If you haven't checked out the CZ line of shotguns, I highly recommend checking them out as they are a great value.

SIG's XCompact is a good alternative to a Glock 19 based on its overall size. SIG took their modular fire control unit and built a compact 15-round pistol that is very easy to control and has a shorter overall length than the Glock 19. The XCompact is probably my favorite carry in the summer, next to its little brother, the P365. There are a few different compact magwell options to make reloading easier.

If you have the XCompact in combination with the fire control unit, you can have a compact small summer carry, but if you want to turn it into a compensated range hunter, it only takes a few minutes with a cannon and a new frame. So with a serialized part you can have multiple configurations giving the P320 series a true case of versatility. If you haven't checked out an XCompact, I seriously encourage you to check it out at your local store.

Just like James does in his lists, I'm going to throw a wildcard into this list that most of you will probably cry is not fair. The SIG Sauer P365 turned heads at the SHOT Show when it hit the scene a few years ago. There are a few different weapon configurations
