In September 2021, the Army awarded Glock a five-year, $15 million contract "to supply several firearms, spare magazines and spare parts." The Glock remains ubiquitous in various units of the Special Operations Forces.

The Glock 19X is the first Glock pistol "crossover" to add the Glock 17 full-length polymer frame to the smaller Glock 19 all-metal slide. The 19X is ambidextrous and the company attributes its superior accuracy to the GLOCK Marksman Barrel's multi-angle barrel. The nPVD slip layer keeps corrosion to a minimum. It's a "coyote color" and not the classic black that the Glock is known for.
The Glock 19X comes standard with 17-round magazines and can optionally be loaded with 19, 24, 31 or even 33-round magazines. The Glock 19X has three different sizes of back strap (small, medium and large) depending on the size of the shooter's hand.
It weighs about 31 ounces loaded. The barrel is just over 4 inches long and the overall length is 7.4 inches.

“The accuracy is good, like the Glocks. Aiming accuracy at 25 yards isn't a problem, and accuracy increases significantly below 15 yards, but you can still be very effective at long range if you're a good shooter (or maybe that's just my red dot). I mostly shoot below 15 yards for concealed carry practice and the 19X is great for that.”
After Glock filed a complaint after losing the first competition, the Government Accountability Office held a head-to-head test between the Glock 19X and the Sig Sauer M17/18 for a final decision.
The SIG models performed exceptionally well in terms of initial reliability; exceptional in ammunition; outstanding in three categories of licensing rights and outstanding in three aspects of production, including ammunition.
Thus, the ammunition license, cost and ergonomics were the deciding factors. SIG Sauer acted wisely in partnering with Winchester to produce ammunition. And Glock took a silver medal, but as a consolation he received a pistol, which is still popular in the civilian market.
