Ruger® Wrangler® Single Action Revolver Model 2004

Ruger was founded in 1949 and has become one of the largest firearms brands in the world.

Ruger is best known for its Ruger 10/22 rifles, bolt action rifles and revolvers. They also created a number of cartridges that bear their name, including the .416 Ruger, 300 RCM and 204 Ruger.

Ruger recently purchased Marlin and will now manufacture Marlin lever action rifles. They will continue to be under the Marlin brand, with Ruger as the parent company.

The Ruger Wrangler is only slightly smaller than the Ruger Single Six with an overall length of 10.25 inches.

Ruger Wrangler (22lr Revolver)

For a .22LR, this revolver is almost sized for its bigger brothers that will chamber much larger centerfire pistol cartridges.

After reviewing and shooting the Browning 1911-22 Black Label, which is only 85% the size of a normal 1911, it was nice to see a 22LR that was almost the same size as its larger counterparts.

She is thick. The Wrangler hits 30 ounces and in a smaller, lighter, better world, it's a hoss!

In any case, the revolutions should not be light and small. In fact, revolvers look better the bigger the frame and the longer the barrel.

It's not as heavy as something like the Ruger Redhawk, which is loaded in 44 Mag, but it's still good to feel the gun.

With its classic revolver grip, the Ruger Wrangler feels right at home in your hand. If you like revolvers, you will definitely love this gun.

The Grip panels are two synthetic grip panels attached with a single screw in the middle of the handle.

They have a checkered texture pattern on the grip panel to add grip texture, but it's not too abrasive.

All three of these things make the .22LR so great and so much fun to shoot. The only downside is how much you need to reload because you want to shoot so much.

The .22LR is one of those rounds that I wish I had film size magazines in that I could shoot, shoot, and shoot without having to stop to reload.

The grip is the most noticeable difference in the new Ruger model, with the barrel being almost an inch shorter.

The cylinder on the Wrangler is not a tipping cylinder like you'll find on Ruger's line of double-action pistols.

If you remove the cylinder, it should come out of the revolver. You can easily do this by opening the charging port and pushing the base pin release and removing the base pin.

It's a very simple process, but not one I would recommend on the range unless you have to because of the possibility of losing your base pin or latch.

The cylinder rotates smoothly when the tailgate is open, and the cylinder is very smooth when you arm the Wrangler as well.

The trigger on this revolver is really decent. It is not close to zero and start at the wall. The break will surprise you almost every time and is clean and crisp.

Overall the trigger is nice and crisp and for a single action pistol I really like it. Trigger pull averages about 4 lbs.

Since this is a single action revolver, the hammer plays a major factor in your enjoyment of this gun.

The hammer is easy to pull back and lock in the cocked position and has a nice texture for the thumb to grip.

The sights on this gun are fixed targets. They are built into the gun and are made from the same aluminum alloy as the frame and the entire gun.

The lenses work, but there's really nothing spectacular about it. The more you shoot with them, the better you get at them.

It's hard to beat the overall look and design of the Ruger Wrangler, the Cerakote finish on this gun really shines.

With its matte finish, sometimes you see some smudges more easily, but overall I had no problems with the finish.

The look of the Wrangler is that of a true classic cowboy style revolver, and it really doesn't disappoint as a full pistol.

The revolver is made of an aluminum alloy and finished with Cerakote. The number of models is expanded due to the finishing options.

11 different cerakote options are available in the 4.62" barrel model. Everything from black to "Crushed Orchid" colors are available, but their availability may be sparse in the current environment.

The Wrangler is definitely one of my favorite 22 pistols in my collection and also ranks as one of the most fun revolvers.

Ruger Wrangler Revolver

Yes, while this is a subjective question with a subjective answer, if you are even slightly considering a .22LR revolver for plinking around this gun is worth it.

Ruger Wrangler 22lr Revolver

I think this gun is great for plinking and even carrying it while riding horses, four wheelers, or any outdoor activity where you might run into kids.

The Wrangler is absolutely not a self-defense weapon, and no silenced firearm should be your self-defense weapon.

Everyone has a different definition of "full size," but by Ruger's standards, the Ruger Wrangler is a full size revolver.

No, however, the Ruger Wrangler is a single action revolver, so if the hammer is not cocked, it will not fire.

So the single action nature of this gun acts as a safety, but there is no manual physical safety in the Ruger Wrangler.

Yes, the Ruger Wrangler can fire 22 short rounds. The Wrangler is able to fire low powered cartridges like the 22 short because it does not use the gases generated by the cartridges to prime the revolver.
