glock 44 problems

Glock 44 Problems - Glock gear is legendary. But how Glock named its brand is puzzling: For a company that has been producing guns for less than 40 years, Austria's Glock has managed to dominate the gun market, eclipsing famous manufacturers like Colt and Smith. & Wesson. , each founded. in the 19th century, and the Italian-based Beretta, founded in the early 16th century.

Glock achieved its success by innovating at a time when the firearms market was largely at a standstill. What is remarkable is that the company's founder, Gaston Glock, was actually like many of the 19th century gunsmiths who started out not as trained gunsmiths. but as instrumentalists seeking to subvert principles.

This helps explain why the original Glock pistol was called the Glock 17; not because he has seventeen rounds in the magazine, but because his name is the license number of Mr. Glock during gun production. While that may have seemed reasonable for the day, especially for a manufacturer that also made garden knives and folding shovels, it is confusing for today's gun owners, especially considering the industry. the body has developed many forms.

Many firearms manufacturers, such as the legendary John Browning even when he worked for other manufacturers, used the year in their own designs. An example is Browning's Colt Model 1911 .45 pistol or the Model 1917 submachine gun. It's simple and to the point.

Other times, the gun is named after its cartridge, as in the case of the .44 Remington Magnum, often referred to as ".44 Magnum." This makes it easy for the aspiring shopper/shooter to know where to start with little knowledge of each type.

Glock pistols are not named by year or by caliber. Instead, it follows the application of the license in many cases and that does not cause confusion for the shooters. Although there is a misconception that the Glock 17 got its name from the magazine capacity, everyone can understand that it is not the case when the Glock 19 was released with a standard 15-round capacity!

Each new Glock model is named after these numbers. This may sound simple and straightforward, but it is confusing. The naming convention means that unlike other handguns today, while that model may help reduce demand on the Glock, it's still unreasonably disappointing.

Silencer Saturday #104: Glock 44 Suppressed

Are you looking for a beginner gun to teach the shooter? The Glock 22 may seem like a good choice, at least until you realize it's chambered in .40 S&W, using a unique cartridge designed for law enforcement. Any first time shooter who points and shoots that person may never want to go back to the shooting range!

You'll probably want a Glock 44 instead. Yes, the name may conjure up thoughts of Clint Eastwood looking down on a criminal, but this has nothing to do with the aforementioned .44 Magnum. Instead, the Glock 44 was the company's attempt to create a .22LR rimfire pistol. It is based on the Glock 19, and despite the smaller cartridge, it still has a 10 round magazine capacity. Still, given the media's connection to "44," it's an odd nickname for what should be a good choice for beginners.

The confusion continues with the Glock 31, 32, and 33: all are .357 SIG variants of other Glock models; while the Glock 38, of course, is not a .38 caliber pistol. And that would be easy; instead it is a .45 caliber pistol, which is even more confusing since Colt produced its Colt Commander in .38 as an alternative to the larger M1911 in .45. Then there is the fact that the Glock 45 is actually a 9mm pistol. Looks like old Gaston thought all this would be funny.

Then there's the added confusion that Glock wants to change the model name to just "Gx" so that the Glock 43 becomes the G43, but that's also the model for the German WWII Gewehr-43 automatic rifle.

To be fair, Glock's website breaks down the models by caliber and major gun stores will do the same. Still, for a shooter unfamiliar with Glocks, this can be a lesson and a disappointment. At least one thing should be clear by now: the Glock 7 is just a fictional movie.

Glock's New Model 44 Rimfire

After a successful media campaign, Glock's first foray into the .22LR arena, the G19-sized Glock 44 with a 10-round capacity, received mixed reactions.

However, the gun has begun to carve out a niche among hobbyists (ie plinkers) and avid shooters, and generated a lot of interest at this year's SHOT Show industry conference.

In recent weeks, however, talk about the G44 has surfaced on social media, raising concerns that the gun may not be as functional or safe as advertised.

Instagram user @Commbloc74 noticed while spreading his gun in the field that the internal parts were damaged, probably while firing the gun.

It is currently unclear what exactly caused the failure process in the G44, whether it was a quality control issue or something related to the engineering and design of the gun.

When Gear Scout reached out to Glock for comment on the G44, company officials said, "It's been brought to our attention and we're reviewing it at this time," regarding a battery-less pistol.

Welcome. I joined this forum because I am a teacher and I will preface this by saying that I own a few Glocks. I love you, but this needs to be shared. I bought the 44 for training in CT, the state mandated NRA head pistol class. I have put maybe 2000 rds through my 44. I clean it every session. Today it basically exploded. I wanted to share this because luckily no one was hurt. We have moved to a crack. I hope these photos arrive. Thank you. Sam

Personally, I wouldn't say it "exploded" (which usually conjures up images of fire, explosions, and broken metal parts); it cracked the polymer on the back before the slide hardened and then the slide fell off at that point. I think that the recoil ring at the bottom of the front slide is what stops the slide from moving back during the round, so that is definitely a concern when, and something in this gun is just not designed to the extent that.

Thank you! Yes, please share the ammo and other details. Share what Glock says when you ask them. We rely on two Glock 44s for CCW and home security and are concerned about this. HEY GLOCK - I advise you to check this forum - will appreciate the answer learned after research!
